Beauty Bag

The following are a few of the current favorite things in my beauty bag!
image
Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm. It removes everything–even waterproof eye makeup, (making it perfect for traveling) and leaves my skin feeling super soft and clean!
image
I am super sensitive to bug bites and this Sarna Lotion soothes my bites and keeps me itch free!
image
I am not a fan of the over-made-up look, which means I love all Glossier products! They are light, blendable, and make your skin look like your skin–just slightly better! Here’s my hero product: Stretch Concealer. I often just wear this with translucent powder
image
I am a self admitted mascara junkie. I had lash extensions for years, and since then have been on a quest for a mascara that makes it look like I didn’t give them up! And these 3 come pretty close–I rotate my use of them, or sometimes layer them. I couldn’t pick a favorite so I listed them all!
Lancome Hypnose
Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir
Benefit They’re Real

I know having a deodorant on here is a bit odd– but I absolutely love this one! I work out a lot, so it has to be strong–it lasts for hours without having an overwhelming scent, and keeps me dry! I also love that it’s a spray–meaning I can keep it in my car without worrying about melting! Dove Dry Spray

I’d love to know–what are you loving this month? XO RA

Capsule Wardrobe

I am horrible at packing–I always over pack, over think, pack for the “what-ifs”, and seem to only feel comfortable if I leave the house with a minimum of five pairs of shoes. This complicates my life simply because I have two bases–which means I travel. And have a tendency to shop wherever I am. I have a quick week trip for a week, and have committed to myself that I wouldn’t fall into this pattern again. So I’ve culled together a “capsule wardrobe” for myself. About 10 pieces that can be mixed and matched. (this doesn’t count my workout clothes). My goal is to be able to have options that are chic, leave room for new treasures, but not have to be lugging over full bags! You can keep up with my daily outfits on Instagram (@racheladelicia) and I will post a wrap up when I return!

Here’s what’s in my bag:
image
A great vintage Gucci tunic from RecessLA and an elevated tank
image
Basic grey sweater from Gap, a white tank from Garment Modern, and a black Rachel Pally slit t-shirt (old)
image
MOTHER Insider Crop
image
My beloved Anna Quan shirt
image
This Reformation Jumpsuit
image
This Mara Hoffman Sweater

This Milly dress

Madewell Sandals, Stuart Weitzman Wedges, New Balance Sneakers, and Dr Scholl’s Slides

Wish me luck! Happy Wednesday! XO RA

Birthday Wishlist

It’s my birthday! YAY! I hope you’re having a great day–and I hope while you read this I’m off having champagne and being fabulous! I love birthdays, mainly as they are the one day that we have that are completely ours. I also love that it’s a way to mark our growth–which isn’t always physical, it’s about goals, dreams, and our hearts. A day to celebrate how far we have come–all the good things that are on the way! This has been a great year, full of changes and growth. I know that this coming year will be full of more–and I’m excited!

Usually I save up and buy myself something big for my birthday–but I haven’t this year. However, the year is still young so following are some things I have my eye on!

image

These amazing Tory Burch sandals–they are sold out everywhere, so major points if you can find them for me!

image
I’ve had my eye on these Gucci slingbacks. Let’s be honest–I have my eye on all Gucci.

There are a few other pieces here and there–but I’m confident that I will find ways to celebrate!

Hope your Tuesday is stunning! XO RA

Believe it or not, I had to be talked into this skirt. This gorgeous, vintage Versace skirt. That I loved. That I knew I could style. The point? We all need a little boost sometimes–and I’m so glad I got one! I love the high waist, the pockets and the print that feels modern. Paired with my new fave silhouette (off the shoulder –and notice the tie sleeve) and these amazing shoes (geometric heel) I am incredibly grateful I have it!

Happy Friday! XO RA

Vintage Coach Bags

image

Because I remember when these type of bags were new, I loathe to call them vintage, however everywhere you look now- Vintage Coach Bags. And loves, I love it! From their very traditional cross-body, to totes, and their saddle bags: Etsy, vintage stores, and your mom’s closet are great places to find them! Some of them look brand new, even so- Coach’s leather ages so beautifully, I love the worn in look. And some of the prices are so great that they are incredibly affordable!

image

So what have we learned? Never throw our investment pieces away. And maybe our younger selves didn’t have horrible style! I’d love to know- are you rocking a vintage purse?

And if you’re interested in a new Coach, they’re having a 30% off sale for Mother’s Day. You can shop in store or here<\a>

Wear Now/Wear Later

Flared cropped pants seem to be everywhere–and I resisted for a while. However, there’s a rule of thumb–that if you can think of at least 3 ways to wear something (or 3 occasions) it’s a good buy. And loves, I just couldn’t stop thinking of ways to wear these pants–like above, and with crop tops. More heels, more flats. I’m excited for fall to wear boots underneath and a sweater. And because I couldn’t stop styling them in my head–I had to have them! I think I chose well!

Happy Wednesday! XO RA

Rock and Roll

There was something about this cropped, fringed jacket that I just loved–the rock and roll feel, the detail on the sleeve, the way it just screamed cool to me. I love the contrast of the jacket with dress pants, but also love it with ripped jeans. I may never be a rock star, but this jacket makes me feel like one (and if nothing else is fun to shimmy in) so in my eyes it’s a winner!

Happy Monday! XO RA

Warning this post is pure, indulgent flash back Friday of #farmersmarket. This was the outfit I chose to wear last night to a fashion show, and yes, sometimes choosing what to wear is my greatest joy and difficult. BUT, I couldn’t resist the gold tones, the shorts, the skirt, the pattern, the standout factor.

And let’s be honest-January lasted 3 years. Last night, it felt good to put something one that felt good. Isn’t that the joy of fashion? That what we wear can affect our moods, our outlook, and our month. Right now we have a short month in front of us: why not go all out everyday? So I’ll be over here, wearing things that make me happy (in case you’re asking yourself, yes, sometimes that means sweats) and things that make me stand out. Somehow, I think this beats dry January!

You can see the original post for this stunning vintage number here.

And a wrap up of my tips:
-Wear things that make you happy
-Wear things that make you standout
-Visit a Farmer’s Market, they’re good for more than just organic veggies
-Art Matters (and fashion is art)
-There is no wrong outfit for food shopping (goes without saying).
-Here’s to a better February

I’ve updated some of my picks on gold outfits. Yes, this is vintage, and if you need some vintage shopping in your life let me recommend: The Kit Vintage (where I got this number), Bloomers and Frocks (with whom I went fashion seeing with last night), RecessLA (to whom I owe much of my closet), and Miriti Vintage.

Happy Friday!
XO RA

And because it’s Friday, and you deserve all things flashback and treats!, I’ve picked some of my favorite “new to sale” items for you. Maybe you can’t make it to the Farmer’s market. But that doesn’t mean you can’t shop!

Off the Shoulder

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on an off the shoulder shirt–and this one is just perfect! It can be dressed up or down–and the color blocking! And these jeans–vintage perfection found by the Rebel Stylist-I’ve been wearing them nonstop. I also have to admit that this shoe color is a little out of my comfort zone, however, I love the shape–and as I’ve worn them I’ve simply fallen in love!! This combo has run errands, dinner, and a brunch–it’s my new go-to!

AAVintedge

image

One of the best things about social media? That it’s social and brings people with similar interests together to make a community! I met Caitlyn from AAVintedge over Instagram when I first joined the site–turns out we have similar interests (fashion, vintage, red wine) and similar lives (TX to LA and back) and she was incredibly supportive in the launch of this site! I’ve bought from her multiple times online, but she recently hosted a pop-up at her brick and mortar store in Tyler, TX; my schedule lined up so I was able to go–and y’all, it was love!

image
Caitlyn curates and runs the shop with her mom Lori, better known as ModMelrose, and they sell great vintage finds, custom caftans (made by Lori), amazing vintage denim, and art/furniture! The pop-up featured local artists, vendors and musicians and was such a lovely day–I met and made so many friends!
image
If you’re not lucky enough to get to the shop in Tyler you can find AAVintedge online here and they have upcoming shows at the Houston Flea (May 7th) and Bulladora in Dallas in June! And of course on Instagram @aavintedge

Any way you can–find her, following are just a few reasons I love Cait and AAVintedge so much–and I think you will too!

Great Vintage, Great Prices
image
The shop offers a fab selection of vintage pieces (like this Valentino I scored!) but the prices aren’t going to break the bank–and she has every thing from clothes to shoes to bags and great sunglasses!

Denim
image
Caitlyn is truly a denim whisperer–she can tell what will look great on you and will have a pair that seem tailored. With vintage denim being so “in” you will be blown away by the selection of jeans and cutoffs the shop has!

Custom Caftans
image
Lori, or @ModMelrose, makes all of the caftans (and some jumpsuits) that the store sells. They are simply gorgeous (I currently have 3 and live in them)–some are made with vintage fabric, some have sleeves, but you have to have one!
image

But the best thing about AAVintedge? Caitlyn and Lori! They are truly special and kind–and great stylists as well! I hope you check them out and love them like I do!
