Classic Wrap

imageimageimageimage

Some things never go out of style – black, pearls, and wrap dresses like this vintage DVF. A friend of mine was set to get rid of this gem and I managed to snag it from her! The great thing about a classic is it never seems to age- the colors and shape feel modern, and a wrap dress looks great on everyone! I’d love to know- what are some of your favorite classics?

Happy Friday! Xo RA

Emmy’s Inspired

imageimageimageimage

Of all the looks I loved from this past Sunday’s airing of the Emmy Awards one of my most favorite was Tatiana Maslany in a white tux, seen here. There is something I just love about a woman in a tux, or a suit–especially without a top. It’s classic, sexy, and unexpected all at the same time. I think it’s perfect for any party or outing–of course use double sided tape, and if you need, I think this look is just as perfect with a top underneath!

Happy Wednesday! XO RA

Vintage Prints

imageimageimageimageimage

I’m getting to spend a lot of time with my family right now and one of the benefits? All the vintage!! I’m loving this vintage print that was once my great Aunt’s. It feels all sorts of modern with skinny jeans–not to mention its own colorful print! It’s made this windy Monday a tad more cheery!

Hope your Monday is short and your shoes are comfy! XO RA

Moody

imageimageimageimageimage

The weather here can’t seem to make up its mind. It’s cloudy and over-cast, threatening rain one minute. Hot and sunny the next. It never feels quite bright enough and the days seem just a little bit touchy for everyone. But there’s something about the early morning light–and a little peace at the river, it matched my mood, and my jumpsuit just perfect. Ok yes, we know I have a thing for jumpsuits–but this one, just sexy enough with the cut out and strapless–but the wide legs and pockets(!?!?) keep it comfy (I swear!). Hope your Friday is less moody!

Happy Friday! XO RA

The Woman in The Hat

imageimageimageimageimage

It is trying so hard to be fall. We’ve been getting rain–the sun comes and goes quickly–as can be seen in today’s pics–and it will rain really hard and then be hot again 2 minutes later. It’s been making dressing for the day a little tough, but I’m using it as an excuse to embrace fall trends: flared jeans, tie-blouses, and hats. I didn’t think I was a hat woman but I’ve changed my mind. They pull things together–not to mention hide dirty hair! What about you? Do you hat?

Happy Wednesday! XO RA

Laid Back Suiting

imageimageimageimageimage

Suiting isn’t all jackets and heels. I’m loving this casual take with dress pants, an over-sized men’s sweater with bralette ( which could easily be replaced with a t-shirt or camisole) and as my neighbor calls them “fancy sneakers”. It was perfect for a casual lunch meeting and then some football. And these “fancy sneakers”? I didn’t think I’d jump on the flatform bandwagon but I may be sold–super comfy and gave me just enough height to not feel as if I need heels. You may need to try them!

Hope Monday is passing painlessly! XO RA

Power Pink

imageimageimageimageimage

Just like I have been excited to see the moody florals that are showing for fall, I’m loving the pastels with edge that are helping to ease me into the season. Notice the skirt has ribbons of gold in it–it’s not your grandma’s knit skirt. And as Mother Nature hasn’t gotten the “fall” memo, pairing it with heels and an off-the-shoulder top leaves me cool, yet feeling pulled together!

Hope you have a great weekend! XO RA

Iced Lilac

So it’s past Labor Day–but it’s still hot. The good part about that? I can still get away with this simply gorgeous dress by Self Portrait. If you’ve never bought a Self Portrait dress I cannot recommend them enough–sexy yet sophisticated, they fit like a dream, and the tailoring is out of this world. And this color?! I may be glad it’s not officially fall yet!

Hope your short week is going swimmingly! XO RA

Striped

imageimageimageimageimage

It’s hot. Case in point: my top, even though it had been pressed, wrinkled just by my going outside–so it’s over stated, but yes, hot. And all I want to wear are things that are as cool as possible. This combination is so light the heat is almost bearable, but the classic stripes, and pop of red on the shoes make me feel pulled together–and hot in the non-weather way!

Hope you’re managing to stay cool these last few days of summer! XO RA
