Fall Wishlist

One of my most favorite things about a new season is making a wishlist for it. Of course those wishlists are always dependent on what I need to refresh in my closet, the upcoming trends, and what I personally love. A juggling act, a bit of shifting at all times, and of course a bit of planning and wishing. This year: I’m still into suits, I want a bit of fun, I need to replace some leather pieces- and I’m excited for all the things to come!

I know that what I may want (now) and want later in the season may change; and I know that both of those things may be incredibly different from what I end up buying. For now, at the start of fall the below categories and lists are where I’m starting. I know that I may end up in different places, with a different closet- but this is where I’m starting. Over the next few weeks I’ll be refining this seasonal wishlist (and letting you know what I’ve bought!- those on my email list will be the first to know! Want in? Sign up!)

In the mean time here’s what I’m wishing about for fall- what are you looking for- new, or updates to your closet? I would love to hear about it all!

Personality Pieces
We all have things that are just us- for me it can often me Dinosaurs, polka dots, statement pieces, and classics. My fall wishlist? Full of all of these things. I’m a fan of updates that look like me so I can’t help but fall in love with staples and statements that scream my name!

Leather Updates
I know faux leather is in- but all of mine have worn out. I’m looking to replace some of my faux leather pieces or perhaps replace them with vintage or new leather pieces. From skirts to blazers these are some pieces I’m loving!

Suting
Suits have been in (honestly I don’t know when they’ve ever been out!) but I just love them. Especially the trend of matching trousers, bustier and blazer! I have some that I love- but I keep seeing suits (and that combo!) everywhere. I may wait and see- but I’m upping my suit game this season!

Basics
This is the time of year when I go through my closet and see what I need to update. Sweaters. Layers. Coats. Bags. More. Yes, some of these I want in statements, but I also want some tried and true classics to come back to for YEARS!

Investment Piece: Color of the Season

On top of all of these- I’m looking to add some color. Add some laters. Buy some great trousers- and of course more! Again, I’ll be updating my list (sending it to my email subscribers in the next few weeks- I hope you’ll be one of them!) and of course letting you know here! If there is anything I can help you find for fall- or recommend -please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Fall Wishlist

a woman in jeans, jean jacket and a plaid blazer with suede boots

While I make wishlists for every season (and also constantly make them), for some reason fall wishlists are hard for me. Perhaps it’s because even though it’s fall, it doesn’t even really feel like fall- aka it’s hard to want sweaters and jackets when it’s still 90 degrees out. Perhaps it’s also that so much of my fall wishlist feels like updates, not new styles. Yes, I love corduroy and plaids and velvets, and I have a lot of them in my closet, so many of the pieces I love now feel like I’m just updating, not making a new wishlist. (And especially this year when, between us, I’m behind on cleaning out my closet and feel like it’s impeding my shopping!). Or perhaps, it’s that during fall time seems to speed up. One day it’s Labor Day, then it’s Halloween, and then we’re right in the middle of the holidays.

And yet, with all of that- there are still things I want this fall, outfits and styles I’m excited to play with, and styles that feel so fresh and exciting to me. Yes, there are sweaters and jackets to update. Yes, I love a great corduroy suit (or pieces) and will ease velvet in my wardrobe as the temps cool. Below I’m linking both ideas for outfits and individual pieces I want.

What does your fall wishlist look like? Are there specific pieces you want or are you recreating fall ideas? I would love to know all about it!

Strapless Sets
Quite a few places are pairing a strapless bustier top with pants. And I love it. It’s a bit retro, a bit fresh and yet completely appropriate for work! Here are some of my favorite sets:

Leather
Leather isn’t new, but there is a lot I want to play with. From midi skirts to trench coats to leggings to colored leather. I’m so interested in mixing and matching with sweaters, tights, boots, heels- all of it!
Shop leather midi skirts here and leather leggings here. I’m on the hunt for a great leather trench coat and will keep you posted!

Other ideas I’m playing with: Monochrome looks (especially playing with different textures in the same color), corduroy (a la a suit!), statement boots, and capes (because I can never resist them! As usual, I will see you updated on all I buy and all my outfits. What are you wearing for fall? What have you bought so far?

Fall Trends: My Wishlist

On Monday we chatted about the trends that we have to work with this fall (get caught up here). But as you know, I think trends are only a part of the story. I got to thinking about what I want to wear this fall, from classics to trends to updates. And while my Wishlist will often get updated, these are the items that I’m currently craving right now:

Boots

We know that boots are a fall staple and a trend (2 for 1?). And I’m loving the options that this provides. I can’t get enough of these star boots that are on trend:

SnakePrint Dress
Investment Piece: Fall Wishlist

There’s a case to be made this fall that snake print is the new leopard print. (Leopard isn’t going anywhere but, still). I can’t help but love this print that feels neutral, and this classic shape is a go-to. Not that I won’t say no to any pants, skirts, or tops. And shoes!
