How to Holiday:
Step OneDecorate (or not) to your heart’s content. Trees, lights, holly, snow globes are all encouraged.
Some people love to go over board with the holiday decorations, others can’t stand them. I, personally, don’t have a strong stance either way. I’ve had years where every room was decorated. There were years when I didn’t put up a tree. The holidays came both ways.

How to Holiday:
Step Two Give! From smiles to coffees to cocktails to big presents, tis the season to show your affection for the people in your life with something tangible. Does it have to be big? No! A little appreciation can go a long way, even to strangers!

How to Holiday:
Step Three Dress the part. Surprise! This is the step I have some strong feelings about. I am a fan of dressing up and there is no better time than the holidays to pull out your party dresses (or buy some new ones) and show off your spirit!

I know that holiday dressing can be overwhelming, you don’t want to over do it, you may not want to be too one the nose. The good news? If there is any time of year that celebrates and encourages “anything goes”, it’s the holiday season! My take on holiday dressing? No matter what you’re celebrating I don’t think that you can go wrong with red and sparkles. From the office party to NYE, there’s a version of red and sparkle to best suit you!

Red

Have I made it clear that I’m a fan of a red party dress? I think they toe the line between classic and show stopping, and the color is holiday perfect! However, red doesn’t have to be limited to your party clothes. From your lips to sweaters to shoes, a pop of color is always a great idea, and that’s doubly true at the Holidays! Dress for the season and make your holiday mark in this signature color.
The above dress is vintage, but I’ve rounded up some of my fave red picks here:

Sparkle

Cliche as it may be, one of the best ways to holiday is to sparkle, and this year your options are endless! There are sequin skirts, tops, dresses, boots, and much more! Go all out in a sequin outfit for holiday (NYE!!) parties, or add a little holiday to your work week with sparkly shoes. I don’t know if a single person that doesn’t like shiny things, and at the holidays you’re allowed to shine!

Either way, red or sparkle, that’s how I holiday. I’d love to know, how do you holiday?
