There are a ton of things to be scared of in the world. Retirement. Spiders. Color. Prints. What you want being sold out. Ok, maybe this list isn’t equal in terms of the scariness, but let’s be honest, these things are all scary.
We chatted about being afraid of color here. We’re switching it up today: let’s talk about how prints aren’t scary, they’re charming. (Get it? Prints Charming! I know: I should get out more.)
But loves, prints are charming. This vintage dress with this print is charming. And yes, it scared me at first. What do you wear with prints? Is there a thing as a print that’s too much? Will people look at me (and not in the good way)? I have all those thoughts too. Then, I look at the print, I take a deep breath, and I trust me. Not only are prints charming, they are great for listening to your inner voice. But, you have questions and I have answers! Just like prints, I like to think I’m charming and I won’t leave you hanging.
-What do you wear with prints?
I think the best thing with a big or total outfit print like this dress is to pick one of the colors that are prominent in the print and use that as your shoes/accessory color. Another great option is to pick a neutral (beige or black) and rock that! The point is that you don’t want anything to compete with the print. Now let’s say that the print isn’t big, is more neutral, or not all encompassing -that, my loves, is a different story and we can chat about it later. (Maybe I’m charming, maybe I also tease a little.)

No. No, there’s not. You should just go for it. Have fun. Wear big prints.

People are going to look at you, but in the amazing way. They are going to love that you had fun, they are going to love your print, I promise.
