Valentine Gift Guide

Lovers, I’ll be honest, Valentines has never been my favorite holiday. It’s not that I don’t love love- I do! And it’s not that I don’t love telling people that I love them- I really do! Also- I love presents, so it’s not that I’m anti-present! I think my issues with Valentines is that there can often feel like there’s a lot of pressure, that some things get forced, and my internal debate about whether flowers and nice dinner because you “have to” are romantic. In past years, I’ve been a bit more anti-Valentines, but with the pandemic and missing friends and family I’ve warmed up to the holiday. I’ve had fun sending Valentines in the mail to friends, buying flowers for family, making special dinners. AND I’ve really enjoyed giving and getting presents to my loved ones. As we head into another Valentine’s season I’ve rounded up some gifts that I love. Some might be for you, your mom, sisters, friends, or anyone who might need a little love note for you!

Hearts
I’m very picky when it comes to heart jewelry. However, lately I’ve been very into heart shaped lockets! And from there finding just sweet enough (but not too sweet) heart jewelry has been a bit easier. I love all of these and I know you or your loved ones will too!

Shoes and Bags
If there are shoes or bags that you or someone you love wants then you should get them, but if not- might I recommend some of these shoes or bags? Just a bit themed but chic for year round use!!

For Him/the House
A few things for him, a few things for the house, a few wine glasses for everyone!

For You
I can’t resist shopping for me (ever), so I’ve rounded up some of the red and pink, somewhat seasonal items on my wishlist right now. For you, for friends, for family, these picks are perfect for the holiday and beyond!

What are your thoughts on Valentine’s Day? Have they changed over the course of the pandemic? This year what are you doing to celebrate? I hope that no matter what, this year Valentines is a day when you feel loved- and if you get gifts they’re fantastic!

Valentine Gift Guide

I’ve been honest that I have a love/hate relationship with Valentine’s Day. I LOVE love, but don’t love a forced “I Love You”. I love a great night out, but some of the over priced menus make me long for pizza at home. The Valentine’s Days from elementary school? Where we were all in the day together, got some candy, gave everyone a card? I did really love those. My candy tastes may have changed. And I may love a more private night at home than a huge party, there is one thing I can really get behind. Presents. (I am a HUGE fan of telling people we care-any day of the year.) From your SO to your parents to your BFF to yourself, there’s a gift out there that’s just perfect. And I may have reservations about Valentine’s, I have absolutely none about shopping these gifts!

I’ve grouped my favorite gift guides below. Shall we give love?

Valentine’s Gift Guide

Investment Piece: Valentine's Gift Guide

I have a confession to make, and this may not be the post to do it. But, I’m a rebel, so here we go. Truth?

I’m not the biggest fan of Valentine’s Day.

Do I love love? Yes. I think you should give affection and love and all those things to everyone you love regularly (and that includes you). What I don’t like? That Valentine’s seems to be a little forced. Really want to wow me? Show up with flowers on a random day and take to a nice dinner. Want to win me over make those flowers Gucci shoes. (I jest. Kind of).

However, there is something about a holiday and about presents and I would not be doing my job if I didn’t help you shop for it. Maybe I’m on the fence about Valentine’s Day, but I believe in shopping. And presents.

So without further ado, I’ve made some picks for the special someone in your life (and yes, you qualify). I’ve included all ranges of ideas from that purse someone wants to just a little something to say “You make me smile”. There’s a chance that this day is a little forced, but if there is someone in your life that means something to you, I’m all about you telling them. And hopefully these gifts help!

For Her

There is no “typical” woman and there is no “typical” thing a woman wants. Some want romantic, some practical, but all want you to pay attention to us. So, if someone’s been hinting about something, or you know that someone LOVES a certain type of thing, that’s a great place to start. Still need ideas?
Here are mine:

Flowers, fine jewelry, and reservations work too!

For Him
Real talk? The men in your life are harder to shop for on Valentine’s. Society doesn’t push chocolates, sleepwear, or flowers for them. (Though if you’re a man and that’s what you want, you go!) So what do you get the man you love? Again, I’m a fan of you paying attention to them and going in that direction. But if you’re stuck, I’ve consulted some of the men in my life.

Here’s what they suggested for Valentine’s gifts:

I would also try a card and reservations.

No matter how you feel about Valentine’s Day, I hope that you do something that makes you feel adored. And I hope that if you’re gifting you get something that makes you smile (even if it’s from you).

This rebel girl just adores you and you make my day!
