Sunday Chronicles: Sister Road Trip

imageimageimageimageimageimage

If you’ve been following on Instagram (@racheladelicia) you know that my sister and I went on a road trip this week! We started in LA and made it all the way to TX to spend some time with family. Now, I’m usually not one for road trips but this trip may have changed my mind. It was so great to spend time with my sister, the Southwest was amazingly beautiful, and the drive was actually fun–we blasted music and sang and danced our way through the states. I truly enjoyed myself! In fact, I might be talked into doing it again.

I’d love to know–do you love road trips? What’s been your favorite vacation this summer?

House of Harlow 1960 Pop-Up

imageimageimageimageimage

This past week in LA there has been a House of Harlow 1960 Pop-Up Store at the Grove, an outdoor shopping mall. I’ve always been a sucker for pop-ups–they often have special merchandise, and one-on-one attention, that make stopping in worthwhile. And I have to say I love HoH–I find the long wrap dresses to be such a chic choice; and the kimono jackets are a favorite of mine to throw on! This collection did not disappoint–there were several long dress for me to fall in love with (the blue silk is my favorite) and the kimono jackets featured fringe (right on trend). My biggest issue with the pop-up was deciding what to buy!

If you’re in LA stop by the Grove through the 16th, otherwise shop online (below are my faves!)! I’d love to know–what do you think??

Happy Wednesday! XO RA

My picks:
This dress
these pants
this kimono
this necklace
and this earcuff

There’s something about a piece that has such structural detail, it can be beautiful in its own right- and paired correctly they can make you feel so incredibly special. This skirt is the heaviest thing I own- and needs no help to stand out; making it perfect for everything from formal events to casual events where your presence needs to be felt. And the shoes! I cannot count the number of compliments I’ve gotten- or tell you how I’ve worn them for a week straight (with everything) – and that the only thing better than this wedge might be the heel version!

Hope that the Monday after your holiday wasn’t brutal- or that you got something special to wear to help you through the day! XO RA

Details:
Shoes: wedge, heel, and flat version Schutz
Skirt: Eddy Anemian for H&M try eBay
Shirt: Target

JCrew x CFDA

Every year JCrew presents a collection from the CFDA Award Winners. This year JCrew chose 3 designers- Paul Andrew (shoes), Ryan Roche (amazing knits), and Eva Fehren (jewelry).  The collections don’t go live till next Wednesday, June 3rd, but are currently available for preorder and featured on the JCrew blog. From what I can tell the collections are amazing- and if they are anything like past collections will sell out quickly! I’m currently lusting after the Paul Andrew floral pumps and all of Eva Fehren’s collection. Below are some of my favorites- if you think you’d like on I recommend preordering or making sure you’re on the ball June 3rd!

Golden Hour

imageimageimageimageimageimage

There is something magical about the early morning–and really the early evening–but in LA the city is still sleepy till about 9a, the light is somehow purer and everything seems to be possible. So for me it was the perfect time to wear one of the most amazing skirts I’ve owned. It added a touch of gold to the whole day.

Happy Friday! xo RA

Sunday Rituals

Whether you think of Sunday as the beginning of the week or the end of the week, Sundays seem to be day when people have routines that they stick to. Laundry and calling your family. Brunch and “Sunday Funday” with friends.  Relaxing and reading. In season, watching football (and I will try my hardest not to make this corner a football corner when that season comes!).  There is a comfort in knowing what to do and expect on a day of the week–and hopefully you get some rest in there too!

I love Sundays–and yes, I fall into the football ritual group. No matter what I do on Sundays though, I try to take a good half hour to myself. I’m a planner and a list maker (other rituals that bring me comfort), and I like to plan out my week. I know that things will always pop up, but having an idea of what I need to get done always clears my mind–and makes starting the week less stressful.

I’d love to know–what are some of your Sunday rituals?
