Gift Guide: Experiences

Investment Piece, fashion blogger, gift, how to, LA, CA

You can deny.
You can beg.
You can ignore.

However, loves, we are really into the holiday season. I hope that there’s fuzzy feelings, snow, and some magic. I hope that you’re ahead on shopping, loving our gift guides, and not at all anxious about your to-do list. I hope you get to give yourself a present. Most of all, I hope that you’ll consider presents that don’t fit under the tree, and no this isn’t a car commercial. I love shopping, I love gifts, I love picking our things for people I love. And some of the best things to give? Experience. It’s perfect for the people who buy themselves their wish list, as well as anyone who just wants a little bit of your time.

True, this isn’t a traditional gift guide, there’s not always a store to buy these things at! However, below you’ll find my best ideas for giving the gift of experience! I hope that you find some ideas that you love, and that might make the perfect gift!

For Friends and Family

Champagne Happy Hour
I have a tradition with a girlfriend. Our holiday “gift” to each other is making time for a champagne happy hour during the season. There’s no “gift”, though we buy champagne and have a few hours to catch up! In the midst of the craziest season of the them all, it’s a little respite, and one of my favorite things to look forward to!

A Nice Dinner Out
Another tradition? I have a group of friends and our “gift” to each other is a great dinner out. We pick a nice restuarant, get dressed up, and eat to our content! No worrying about gift exchanges, just a great night out with people you love!

Other ideas that encompass the idea that the best thing you can do is spend time together? Shopping dates, movie dates, coffee dates. Who says a present can’t be making plans?

For a Special Someone

A Night on The Town
Dinner, drinks, dancing, whatever makes you happy! Not only do I love a great night out, I love planning a great night out. And if time alone is a rarity, this makes the gift extra special!

A Weekend Away
From a one night staycation at your favorite local hotel to a weekend away, who doesn’t love the idea of hotels and room service and time together? The best part? You don’t have to plan it for the holiday season, and you can wrap the ititnery and put it under the tree!

Other ideas: concert tickets, race car experiences, hot balloon rides, cooking classes, and a museum day.

I’d love to know: do you like to get experiences as gifts? Give them?

Tell me your thoughts!
