The good news? You can trust me, you do need these pants. (As a bonus, they will make all your friends jealous and you will be ready for the holidays! Everyone wins!) Honest talk? I get wary of “holiday outfits” and holiday “colors” (aka red, green, and blue) that are too on the nose. No one, especially me, wants to look like we’re going to a holiday party at all times. Especially, I don’t want to look like I’m headed to an “ugly” sweater or holiday party. (True story: I’m old enough to remember when ugly sweaters weren’t ugly, but just holiday sweaters. The good ole days?)
Here’s a secret: green pants were not my idea. I actually saw this pic on Instagram :
(Yes, I use the Insta for my #outfitinspo, too. Don’t tell) And knew that I had to have a pair. I couldn’t stop thinking of them with denim or chambray shirts, sweaters, and every heel and sneaker I have. Then I searched for them. High and low. Loves, I really thought I was going to have to wait for spring to get my hands on some. (Yep, I was holding out for wide leg yumminess like above. ) Then, I walked into HM. I seriously have a thing for luxury shopping, but lately, I’ve been finding everything I need at HM (see here, here, and
here), including these pants. I couldn’t resist them!
I love the look I gave you: the sheer is just a balance for holiday vibes and heavy belt (vintage), and shoes (that heel!). These pants would be made more office/family friendly with any non-sheer sweater, heel, sneaker, shirt, and all the things that I can’t think off. Make it non-holiday by staying away from anything red. Or go all out, and embrace the holiday? I want to see what you come up with!
