Running around this week for SXSW has me reaching into my make-up bag more than usual for touch-ups, changes from day to night and general up-keep. These are the products that have been keeping me looking my best! I’d love to know–what’s in your make-up bag?

Crayon eyeshadow. It goes on easily, blends like a dream, and I’m loving this gold–it makes me seem awake and makes my eyes look big!

White eyeliner can make you look awake–I put it on my lower line, or wing it on my upper lid for a more interesting look!
Dior Eyeliner

Being out all day and often going straight to an evening event from a daytime event means I’m reapplying mascara throughout the day. And this product means no clumping, no spider lashes, and no cakey look. It literally refreshes your eyelashes so you can reapply without taking off your original application–and even if you just put this on, it makes your eyelashes soft and fresh again!
Urban Decay Mascara Resurrection

image
Oil blotting papers–look matte again without smudging your make-up! These have just a slight powdery feel which makes me feel fresh again, and takes care of any glow that is un-needed!
Blotting Papers

Cheek tints. My skin tends to eat blush and these keep me looking the perfect amount of flushed–super blendable, the color is great on all skin tones, and can slip into your pocket!
YSL is discontinued, similar here, Dior

This is the best subtle lip gloss (that can double as blush if needed), and it’s not goopy at all!
Vaseline Lip Therapy

This face mask is just amazing–it makes me look hydrated, less fatigued, and gives me a glow. I cheat and sleep in it–but it really only needs about 20 mins to give you a pick-me-up!
Skin Laundry Face Mask

Not every outfit I shoot makes it into a post–or flat out some posts just don’t work the way I think they will. Here’s a collection of some things that didn’t quite make it–but I still love!

I’m in Austin for SXSW- it’s my first and lovers it’s a great time. I’ll admit it’s a bit overwhelming – so many events, parties, people- however it is incredibly civil! There a ton of screenings, talks about fashion, lounges and networking events but everyone is organized, friendly and excited to be there!

Some tips:
-Unlike Cochella, etc, SXSW is spread out- wear comfortable shoes and leave time for shuttles, walking, etc
– I get cold in movie theaters so I’ve been throwing a scarf in my bag, and it’s a lifesaver
– you need a big bag, for things like water, schedule, etc
-I’m staying a bit outside downtown so am taking changes of clothes in the car for my night events.

Below see some of the things I’ve been up to! Hope you’re having a great week! XO RA

Vintage Dress

Vintage lovers can occasionally be broken down into two camps–those who love vintage that has a modern feel and can fit in with day to day outfits, or those who gravitate to a more “costume” look, meaning that it can feel that the outfit is more costume. Me? I love it all–but I do like when whatever I’m wearing feels fresh and current. This dress straddles that line–and I love it. It’s clearly very vintage–1920s, but paired with heels, or even loafers and it feels new. And isn’t that what’s exciting about vintage?

Happy Monday! XO RA

Sunday Chronicles: Birthday and SXSW

image

It’s the blog’s birthday! A year ago, despite not knowing 100% of what I was doing, I decided to go ahead and start a blog to share my style, love of fashion, and point of view with you. Many miles, shoes, outfits, and growth later this little labor of love is a year old. I cannot tell you how grateful I am that you let me share my little part of the internet with you. You are the biggest part of this site and I truly appreciate your support! I can’t wait for you to see all that is coming–more shoes, outfits, shopping and tips! Here’s to another great year!

Also!

This year I’m excited to say I’m going to the SXSW Film Festival (actually it started Friday, I’ve already seen so many great films and met amazing people). As an actress and a huge fan of film I’m truly excited! As a fashion lover I’m excited to share what people are wearing and details of events! On Tues/Thurs I’ll showcase street style and event details–and make sure that you’re following my instagram (@racheladelicia) for more picks!

Wishing us all a week of milestones and amazing shoes! XO RA

On Sunday Investment Piece turns 1! I am a little excited to see how much this product of love has grown–and am so grateful to all of you, as you are the biggest part of this! So it’s a bit ironic that one of my first posts, Wardrobe Workhorse featured this same jumpsuit. Spoiler alert: I still wear it all the time, and denim jumpsuits are in. Way in. I will tell you again how it goes with everything–heels, flats, flip flops even. Accessories can change it up, or it’s perfect just on it’s own! And there are so many options this season–short sleeve, long sleeve, etc. My advice? Get one!

Happy Friday! XO RA

It is absolutely no secret that I am seriously in love with the new Gucci collection (and if I say that enough perhaps it will appear magically in my closet). However, I also have a love affair with Vintage Gucci Bags. Just like any well-made vintage bag the quality and classic silhouette stand up; but there is just something about the signature Gucci style, be it the bamboo or the ggs, that manages to feel new–even when it’s old. And some of the best places to find great Vintage Gucci Bags? Etsy and eBay. I cannot tell you the number of high quality bags I’ve found on those sites–and at reasonable prices. They also have a great selection of Gucci luggage (which may be my next investment). I’ve found that there is such a great selection out there that you just have to look–and be specific about what you want. What are your thoughts on Vintage Gucci? Love? Indifferent? Where do you shop it?

It’s no secret that I love Vintage–but my favorite kind of vintage may be the kind that looks modern. I love mixing new and old pieces, and when the pieces are just simply well-made and look stunning it makes putting together an outfit so much easier. I also love how the shoes just slightly toughen the look!

Hope you have a great Wednesday! XO RA

Trend to Try: Bomber Jackets

image

Every season it seems as if there is a new trend to try, and this season it’s part throw back, part fresh alternative to the jean jacket, and in my humble opinion, part perfection. Yes, we are chatting Bomber Jackets. They’re every where–in the last few weeks I’ve worn three on the blog! Here’s why I love them: they’re stylish, offered at every price point and color, the embroidery to be found on some elevates this staple to a statement, and while the silhouette is by no means new, this season it feels so fresh. I love them with jeans, skirts, pants, over dresses, I’ve worn them to the gym over leggings–they’ve become my go-to. Do you have one? Do you love it? If not, willing to try?

I’d love to know! See below for some of my fave bomber jacket picks!

When saying that you needed a “little black dress”, no one ever said it had to be boring. I love this Milly take on the classic–off the shoulder, exciting sleeves–it’s easy to dress up, not too much for a more casual affair, and remains a classic. Even when you are just hanging out by the river.

Hope your Monday is a stunner loves! XO RA
